EIFS with EPS Foam in Egypt
EIFS Submittal – Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS)
EIFS (Exterior Insulation and Finish System) is an exterior wall cladding and insulation system that uses rigid Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) boards installed on the outer surface of building walls. KEMIA EIFS provides an effective thermal insulation solution that enhances the energy efficiency of buildings while creating an attractive plaster-like exterior finish.
After installing the EPS insulation boards, the system is covered with protective and decorative coatings that improve durability and provide long-term resistance to external weather conditions.
EIFS is also commonly known as an External Thermal Insulation Composite System (ETICS).
A typical EIFS system consists of Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Foam Boards bonded to the wall substrate using suitable adhesives. The EPS boards are then covered with a modified cementitious base coat reinforced with woven fiberglass mesh, followed by a textured and colored finish coat. Different variations of the system have been developed over the years to meet a wide range of architectural and construction requirements.
KEMIA Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) Boards are widely used as the core insulation material in EIFS applications due to their excellent thermal performance, lightweight properties, ease of handling, and simple installation. By improving the thermal resistance of the building envelope, EIFS helps reduce energy consumption and contributes to lower heating and cooling costs.
KEMIA also provides EPS products designed for both insulation and decorative applications. Thanks to the flexibility and workability of EPS, it can be shaped into various architectural profiles, decorative elements, and customized façade designs, making it a practical and versatile solution for modern exterior insulation and decoration systems.
